New Things!

Collin Wyatt laughed for the first time today! I was holding him while we were eating supper and Carson and I were talking about his day when all of a sudden Collin busted out laughing. It wasn't no little laugh....it was like he had been holding it in forever! Carson and I immediatley began laughing too and Collin continued to giggle. It was so sweet. He's changing everyday and I can't believe how fast he is growing. He began sleeping 8-12 hour stretches at night just 2 days before I went back to work. He's rolled from his back to his tummy one time and is also now known as "our little thumb sucker!"

First Day of Preschool

Carson had his first day of preschool today. He was happy to be there and when I asked him for a kiss before I left he gave me one and bent down and gave Collin one too. He ran to me smiling when I picked him up and he said he got to play outside and he sat at the table (something I've been telling him he would have to do). While we were walking into daycare he so proudly said, "I had a rough day at preschool" as if it was alot of work!

Waiting for Daddy

This is Brett's 3rd week that he has been working in the area. Carson has been super excited to have Daddy home each night. One night last week I found him lounged out on the couch with his feet holding the curtains back waiting for Daddy to pull in the driveway.

New Daycare

The boys started at their new daycare on Monday. Jill lives just 3 blocks from our house so that will be convenient for us. Brett and I dropped them off in the morning and Carson was very anxious to start playing. While I was at my meeting at the high school they announced that I had flowers to pick up in the front office. The note said, "We are doing fine. See you after lunch. Love, Carson & Collin". I was so surprised that Jill had sent me flowers! She said she realizes that it can be hard for mom's going back to work. Both boys did great and Carson had so much fun that he went back yesterday even though I didn't have to work! I will be working 1/2 days Thursday and Friday and then next week I'll be working Monday through Thursday from 8:30-4:30pm.

Collin is 2 months old!

Collin Wyatt turned 2 months old on August 6th. We had his 2 month check-up on Friday and we weighs 11 pounds 13 ounces and is now 23 1/2 inches long. He got 3 shots :( Dr. Becker said he looked good and appeared to be pretty easy going. We are pleased with how well he has been doing lately. He takes a bath around 7pm, nurses, and then will go to sleep on his own after I lay him down in his crib. He is waking up anywhere from every 2 1/2 to 7 hours. I am hoping the longer hours become more consistant, especially since I start work on Monday!

Harmon Pool

We enjoyed a cooler afternoon at the pool yesterday. Carson loves to go down the slide and he was quite surprised that he can touch in the big pool!

Evening at the Widdowson Farm

On Wednesday evening we traveled to the Widdowson farm near Gibbon to help pick sweet corn. Carson loved being on the farm and was so excited that Brad gave him a ride in the tractor. Collin enjoyed being outside and hanging out with Lily.

New Ride!

It appears that we have asked our little boy to grow up too quickly. We recently went to a garage sale that had a double stroller for sale and Carson cried big ol' crocodile tears when it was sold before we arrived. He said, "I just wanted that stroller with two seats so I could sit next to Collin". I felt bad for him so while we were in Grand Island on Friday I found this Sit-n-Stand Deluxe stroller at Shopko. Carson is in heaven! We have gone on a walk the past two mornings before the temperature starts to rise. I just wish I would have bought one earlier in my maternity leave!
